Native American Christian Art & Worship Ministries
This ministry is greatly influenced by the life of Rich Mullins. It was Rich's desire to live among the forgotten and share his artistic gift of poetic lyrics and music. He spent the last few years of his life on the Navajo reservation. He especially wanted to reach out to Native American youth. Rich identified with those who felt crushed by life, circumstances, and history. His desire was to allow the whisper of the oppressed to be heard. Native youth have a voice but no one was listening, Rich allowed them to be heard.
On Eagles Wing's Franciscan Friends is an outreach that desires to follow Christ in the way of St. Francis of Assisi. Our ministry is about working with Native American youth on the Reservations and in the juvenile detention centers.. Art and music are gifts to the children that build character and allows them to express themselves. "Lord make me an instrumet of Your peace" St. Francis
Powwow Youth Drum and Dance
Experience Native American drumming and dance through On Eagle's Wings Christian Powwow style worship and fellowship gatherings, teaching the youth the stories and traditions of their culture. We will dance a new dance about the Creator who gives His Son Jesus for the unity of all tribes and nations. On Eagle's Wings offers a teen abstinence program; Aids education; drug and alcohol prevention; and gang awareness through the "Gangs It's Your Life Series".
Art and Music Workshop
Experience God's loving kindness in an all day event through Native American drumming, flute, art and dance. Art is a gift to the children that builds character and allows them to express themselves. We do our workshops on the reservations of the Southwest and in the juvenile detention centers.
Behind Prison Walls
The Lord has opened many doors for us to minister in the juvenile detention centers. We do morning prayer Native American style and Native American groups to help teens follow the right path. The Bible is the center of our teaching as we share the love of Jesus through Native American song, flute and drumming.
On Eagle's Wings Film Productions
Documentaries and stories about life on the Reservations of the Southwest are in progress. These short DVD clips provide creative visual tools communicating God's work in the lives of the Native American people.
